Survivor: Redemption Island

25 Feb

I’m not sure what to think of Phillip. Is he a good actor ala Johnny Fairplay or is he really the guy he says he is? What do you think? I am glad the Survivor people provided the players with swimsuits, but what I can’t understand is why he still insisted on wandering around camp in his flamingo pink underwear. Gross.

Week 2

I think it’s awesome Ralph found the immunity idol and I think it’s even more awesome that he called Russell out on having the clue.  Russell, of course, lied about it.  I think Russell over reacted with his “I don’t like how you’re coming up at me,” or whatever.  He’s far too cocky, too.  Just because Ralph hasn’t been in the game before doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how it works.  He and his man sweater seems to be doing okay so far.

Ometepe lost the challenge again.  After they lost Matt took it upon himself to shake the hands of the winning tribe.  While that seems like good sportsmanship, com’on, this is Survivor.  When has sportsmanship ever played a roll?  His tribe mates were pissed.  Phillip blamed himself for the loss because he screwed up the end bit of breaking the five tiles, and suggested he be the one to go home because of his error.  Rob took Phillip into his confidence as a test.  Phillip passed the test.  Kristina played the immunity idol.  Matt and Andrea (his closest alliance) were blindsided when the tribe (on Rob’s command) voted Matt off.

Next week, I think, we get to see Matt and Francesca battle it out at Redemption Island.  It’s going to be a good twist.

Survivor: Redemption Island

17 Feb

Once again we’re into the start of another season of Survivor.  This year there is a new twist.  Redemption Island.  It’s crazy!  From what I understand when someone is voted off at tribal council they head to Redemption Island, rather than going home, where they have to live alone until the next person gets voted off at tribal and then the two of them at Redemption Island battle to see who gets to stay.  I’m not sure if they get to stay on Redemption Island or if they get sent back to their tribe.  I guess we’ll wait and see.

Here’s a good link to see which tribe is which and who has been voted off – gotta love Wikipedia – Survivor: Redemption Island

I made a chart of who is on which team and who is on and battling it out on Redemption Island.  I will try my best to keep it up to date as the weeks go by.  It’s not pretty, but it works.

Survivor Week One

Survivor Redemption Island - Week One

We didn’t see too much drama from the Zapatera tribe, but the people there are not blind to Russell’s old tricks and are planning to vote him off as soon as they can.  I think this is great because I do not like Russell.  It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

The Ometepe tribe, on the other hand, was drama filled and exciting.  When they first got to camp Phillip decided to start barking orders at people, which didn’t go over well.  Kristina tried to find a clue to the hidden immunity idol and Boston Rob caught her doing it.  He then realised she was going to be trouble.  Eventually, without a clue, Kristina found the idol.  She told Francesca and eventually told Phillip too.  Ometepe lost the Immunity Challenge and thus they headed to tribal council.

And what a tribal council it was!!

Wow.  Check it out here on YouTube … the wild stuff starts about 4:17 in the video.

I still can’t get over it …

Phillip is an ass … “I have a dry mouthI’m getting treatment for it.”   By “dry mouth” I wonder if he means he doesn’t know when to shut up.  I’ll be completely shocked if he really is some sort of former secret agent (or whatever) because you’d think he’d be wise on how to keep a secret.  I hope he is voted off next.

Boston Rob was classic.  He has always been a favourite of mine.  He’s a shit disturber, tough, smart and never stops giving 100% … he reminds me of Michael in that way.

Francesca is the first victim person headed to Redemption Island.

I cannot wait for next week.
